Compassionate, knowledeable and awesome
Meet the Doctors at GBAAH
Yeah, we know, it sounds a little cliché, but we really do love your pets like they are ours, because, well, we all have pets and we get it. They are another member of the family. One of the absolute joys of being able to take care of your pets, is we get to connect with you as well. That relationship is the cornerstone of our business.
As your pet healthcare provider, we also take seriously our team well-being. We want to prosper in life and thus support a happy and healthy work environment. We have lives outside of the walls of the clinic and we nurture those daily. Taking care of our team enables us to give you and your pet the best care possible.
We strive to foster the human animal bond by placing the pet first, then the client relationship, team and hospital. We are always keeping the pet and client in the forefront of our service and care.
We also think we have a cool story. They say what goes around comes around and nothing could be truer for us. More than 35 years ago Dr. Neil Rechsteiner worked at the business he now owns today. He served in his teen years as a “kennel kid” and did odd jobs around the clinic learning first-hand what a career working with animals would be like. In 1982 when Dr. Neil completed vet school in Minnesota, he returned and in 1985 bought the business. In 1983 the decision was made to expand, and the Allouez Animal Hospital was opened. Through the years, Dr. Neil had many kennel kids, including Becky Krull. In turn, Dr. Becky graduated in 2005 from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and returned home to practice with her mentor, Dr. Rechsteiner. In 2008 Dr. Becky took her place alongside Dr. Rechsteiner and became a partner. Dr. Abby too held a position at the hospitals as she earned her way through college. She has returned home as well and is practicing veterinarian with the team.
